It is the summer before 'Jen' Jennifer Taylor and her 2 best friends Chelsea Franklin and Amy Riley is starting different college, so this summer Jen is going to be totally independant and stay on an island outside of Texas in Jen grandparents beach house and work at Coastal Campground Resorts with Chelsea and Amy for 3 months. Now they are on there way in Amy small and old car and they know it is going to be the best summer. But when they get to the house and Jen wants to have her grandparents bedroom (which is the largest, king size bed and balcony) Chelsea have a problem with that and tells Jen that she is not in charge. Amy is standing on the sideline and sugest that they get the bedroom each for a month and they decide to play on it. Chelsea end up having it first, then Amy, then Jen. They start loading out the car, but Jen thinks it is sad and that they shouldn´t wast sunshine hours, so she suggest they go out nd walk on the beach. Chelsea´s boyfriend Noah calls, so she catches up with the others after. The next day wednesday is the first work day for the girls, and at the reception were Jen work she meets a guy Dylan and his friend Zach, who comes in on motorcycles, to camp in telt on the beach and Jen finds out there are going to be into the army when summer ends. When the girls get home Noah is there and Chelsea and him uses most of the night liplocking in front of everybody. Amy and Jen goes down to the beach after work and Chelsea comes and suggest they go out for dinner. Chelsea has really been different these last 2 days and when she tells them at dinner that her, Amy and Jen should pay for all the food, because Noah drove them (eventhough it was almost nothing, and his food/beer was like half of the bill). Amy and Jen gets mad but doesn´t say anything, because Noah is right there and Jen doesn´t want another fight. Chelsea and Noah drives home, while Amy and Jen walk and go rent some movies, but when they get home Noah and Chelsea are in front of the tv and doesn´t want to watch the dvd´s. the next day they work and Jen meets Dylan by the pool, were he put lotion cream on her. Jen then talk to the owner to ask if Dylan works a couple of hours a week, he can use the showers for free, and the owner tells her to tell Dylan that he can do that. The next day it is Friday and Amy and Jen is tired of having Noaf around. he doesn´t pay for anything and there are a lot of expenses. But Chelsea announces that he will be staying the next months and that they will allow it because he makes her happy.

The next day the girl are on their way home from a hard and long day at work, because the season has started today, when Amy´s car breaks down. Noah doesn´t answer the phone, but they are lucky because Dylan and Zach drives by, and Amy and Zach goes to buy the new things for the car, while the others stay. They fix the car and Amy tells Jen that she has promised to make dinner for the boys for the help, so they drive home to the beach house. But there isn´t any food, because Noah has only bought beer, so they go out to eat and the resturant is really crowded. fter they walk home, but Jen and Dylan goes to the beach and talk and he explaines that he doesn´t have a girlfriend, but that he isn´t looking for one because of the Army and Jen tells him the same. He ask if she plays pool and they agree to go on the game room at the campground, eventhough its closing, but Jen has a key. They play and make a bet. Dylan wins so Jen promise to make chocolat cookies til the next day when they are coming to eat.
The Next day the girls go shopping and Chelsea is complaining a lot, esspecially over them using cupons to save some money. The boys shows up later and they eat. After Noah suggest they go to a drive in movie, because it is almost free, so they all buck up in Noah´s car and go. After the movie Dylan comes with them home to get the rest of the cookies and Jen shows him the crow’s nest and he kiss her up there. The next day Jen wakes up to Amy that last night had taken a stray chihuahua dog in and after a talk Jen says it can stay and Noah promise to take care of it while they work. It is raining so it is really bussy at work, so Jen works with Amy is the cafe and a guy named Matt flirts with Jan and tells her that there is a party at the beach tonight. Amy and Jen are consider going and Jen tells Amy, she and Dylan kissed at the same time she can see Dylan over by a game machine, with some girl by his side and she gets a little jealous and tells Amy the kiss is no biggie, when dylan comes over and overhears. He tells her that the kiss did mean something to him and that the girl has a boyfriend, but she was just telling him about the beach party. So the 3 of them agree to go to it, with the others also. When the girl get home the 3 guys are there and Zach and Dylan has caught crab for them to eat for dinner, but it gets a little messy when one crab is resisdent. After they go to the oarty and find out that they were suppose to bring something, so Chelsea tells the people that they can come to a party at their house tommorow. Jen is not extreme happy about the idea but accept it.

Later her and Dylan goes swimming in the dark and kiss some more. The next morning after Jen get out of the shower, she finds a guy named Alex outside the bathroom waiting to use the shower. Jen ask Amy WTF is going on and she tells her that she met Alex last night and since they have a spare bedroom, she told him he could stay here for the summer if he helps pay for the food. On top of that Amy and Alex has found a stray cat, who now also lives there. Chelsea isn´t going to work today because she has too plan the party and Jen tells her that she doens´t want people in the house. Just outside. But when Amy and her get home the party is full blown and there are many people, also in the house. But through the night her and Dylan gets people to move outside. She has a good time and Dylan ask her to call in sick in the morning to spend time with him, because he is leaving soon and Jen say yes. The next morning the house is a mess and there is another dog is the house and another guy who has slept over. Jen becomes mad and take control and call everyone down and tells them to help cleam up or they are out of there, and that seems to make everybody going and they clean up in a couple of hours. After Chelsea and Amy goes to work and Dylan and Jen goes to the beach and back by mid day to eat lunch. Dylan also ask her if he wants to sleep in the telt with her aometime (and sleep together) and she promise to think about it, but it comes up at lunch and Jen tells him that she doesn´t want to sleep with him, when she is never going to see him again and there is problably going to be more girls. Later before Jen is going out with Dylan clubbing, Chelsea becomes totally mad at her because Noah now has a job at night (Chelsea works day hours) and is mad at Chelsea because Chelsea told him that the girls parents were paying for the trip and not them. Chelsea tells Jen that it is her fault, and Jen tells her that they just talked earlier and she told him he could help out instaed of living of them. She also tells Chelsea that she lied to him so of course he is mad, but Chelsea doesn´t care. Her and Dylan go out clubbing and she first comes home at dawn. Today it is her day of and her and Dylan is going sailing, but when she gets down to the campside she finds out that him and Zack left earlier this morning. Jen spends her day at the beach and curses herself for falling in love with him and when she gets home she gets angry at Chelsea and Amy for all the mess that they have made with their summer.

2 weeks goes by and one night Chelsea comes home crying and tells that she went to say hello to Noah at his work and found him with his toung down another girls throat and that they are over. So they girls decide to dress up and do some clubbing. But after some time it gets boring, so they go rent movies and buy ice cream and go home. Alex the guy that has been staying there comes home a while after them and he goes up and kisses Amy and goes to bed. Chelsea and Jen is totally suprise that she now has a boyfriend, and Amy tells them that they ignored her so that is why they didn´t know. Suddenly Noah shows up and begs for forgivness and They has to find a way to get his clothe out so he doesn´t come in. So while Noah is crawling up the balcony to Jen grandparents room, Jen goes out the door and throws some of his clothe outside, but when she get back upstairs Chelsea and Noah is in bed kissing and all Jen is thinking is that Chelsea is pathetic. A week after Chelsea tells them that she has just quit the job, and has gotten another one where Noah works, and Jen can´t believe she would just do that which such short notice and to them when she has a responsiality.
A couple of weeks after, A week before 4 of July, when Jen is out walking the dogs because Amy and Alex are on their first real date, Jen decides to take charge of her live again and she comes home a night and tells the guys that she wants to have a big party the 4 of july and they say okay. So that night the girls start planning the big party and the next week it is all they talk about. Finally the day of the party begins and after work a lot of people is suddenly there and when Chelsea and Jen is talking and she turn around Dylan is there, after 35 days, in front of her and says he missed the sailing trip. Jen burst into tears and run to her room, where Chelsea and Amy comes with her, they comfort her and she tells them she falled in love with him. After she tells them that she wants to go sailing. So her and Dylan takes up to go sailing, when they reach the boat they get in and sail of. They are in silent for a long time and Dylan tells her he was afraid because he was falling for her and he knew if he stayed another day he wouldn´t leave and eventually he has to leave because he is already enlisted in the army. He tells her that he couldn´t stop thinking about her. He also gives her a gift a perfect white sand dollar (a thing she wanted if she won the bet when they played pool, but it had to be one washed up from the sea. They watch the firework and make up and he tells her he loves her. By night they go home to the house and Dylan sleep with her in her bed. The next morning Jen gets up at dawn and is joined by Amy and Chelsea and she tells them that Dylan will be moving in. Chelsea ask her if she want her grandparents room, but Jen says no, because the other room is hers now and last night it became her and Dylan and she knows that they tonight will be doing more than kissing, and it just wouldn´t feel right in another room. After she goes upstairs and tells Dylan she loves him too.

It had the same thing as all the other books by the author, but i didn´t like it as much as some of the other books, but i did like it. I really hated Chelsea!! I don´t know why but she reminded me of Kinsey from DOOL and i could just imagine this Chelsea look and have the same attitude as Kinsey (Shelby Young). And that Kinsey is so fucking annoying.
